Testimonial from Ram Bhadra
Ram Bhadra opened up about his experience as a 3L and what Pani Cooler has meant to him:
"I wanted to tell you how grateful I am for the Pani Cooler emails, and how helpful they have been over the past few months in helping me fight imposter syndrome in school!
I was already physically pretty distanced from my community and network when I moved to SF from NYC for law school, but the sheer lack of South Asians in Hastings took me by surprise. This coming May, I will be one of two South Asian men graduating from Hastings, and all of this made me question whether there will be a place for me in this field.
However the Pani Cooler emails gave me a broader perspective on becoming an attorney and helped me see beyond the walls of Hastings. Opening the Pani Cooler emails and seeing awesome South Asian attorneys open doors to equally amazing opportunities at their firms and companies is a constant reminder of the fact I have never been alone in my journey to finding success as an attorney.
The listserv is also a validation of the very real struggles we all have to face while starting out in this traditionally conservative field and that it is okay to lean on each other for help! I have been meaning to reach out to you to express my gratitude and also share my excitement about the future of Pani Cooler!"
The Indie Guide To Building Your Legal Network
Part of the mission of Pani Cooler is to help South Asian lawyers make the most of the powerful network of any legal professionals. I attribute any success I've had with my career to the relationships I've developed and grown. And I wrote the principles I used in The Indie Guide to Building Your Legal Network.
Here's what Amisha Patel had to say about The Indie Guide: "Your writing is clear and concise, and I like how you weave in personal anecdotes and stories from others. You also outline a very clear action plan. Even as someone not in the law school setting, I found this extremely valuable in thinking about ways to reinforce many of the lessons that needed reinforcing on how to present well in strengthening and nurturing my network."
